Don't hesitate to participate in charity events hosted by AUP this week and help people in need.

As Thanksgiving is approaching this week, AUP is hosting a series of charity events “AUP Gives Back” - a week devoted to giving back to communities in Paris and around the world. Be sure to attend some of the events, as apart from helping people, you would also have fun participating.

Tuesday, November 21

The week kicks off on Tuesday 21, an event from 12h00 to 15h00 in the Amex, La Chobra Soup Drive. Each soup, a member of our AUP community buys, provides a soup for somebody who really needs it. The cost of each soup is donation based, and anything you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated. You can skip the line and order your soup ahead of time through the "Donate Online" (min. donation online is 1EUR)! If you can't make it to the Amex during the soup drive, soups will be delivered around campus.

On the same day from 18h30 to 20h30, there will be a Silent Auction on the first floor of Combes in C-104.  AUP will be honoring and raising money for Afrika Tikkun, a partner NGO based out of South Africa that is dedicated to investing in education and youth development through providing homes, schools, tuition, community centers, and sanitary health centers for those in need. Bid on exciting prizes and enjoy African food at the second annual Silent Auction.

Wednesday, November 22

The AUPpreciate at Senate will be held in C-104 on Wednesday, November 22nd from 12h10 to 13h30. After shortened Senate procedures, the Senate will be inviting the Service clubs at AUP to present who they are, what they do, their accomplishments this semester and their plans for next semester. Then they will be serving lunch. It'll be a great opportunity for the community to celebrate and learn about the amazing work our students do and for these students to share their successes with the community.

Thursday, November 23

From 19h00 to 21h00 at the American Church, there will be a traditional American Thanksgiving which is hosted every year by AUP, which is free of charge for all students. AUP’s student club, Baytna à Vous, has contributed to helping refugees settle in both France and Europe through their tireless fundraising efforts and hands-on volunteering work with Syrian children and families in Paris. BVSyria will be present at the Thanksgiving feast accepting donations which will go directly to their life-saving work. Don't forget to sign up online.

Friday, November 24

If you are ready to get your laugh on, be sure to attend the Night of Comedy in C-103 and C-104 from 18h30 to 20h30. Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend a Night of Comedy at AUP for a good laugh and to contribute to a great cause! Five of Paris’ top English-speaking comedians will be joining us for an exclusive event, in collaboration with AUP's Latino América Club. All the donations to the event will be going to the Puerto Rican Hurricane Relief. Tickets are €5 for the show and you will receive a complimentary beer/soft drink.

Saturday, November 25

The last event, AUP Games,  will take place on from 13h30 to 15h30. Get your sneakers on and get ready to play against some of the student-athletes at AUP! Test your skills in various mini-games against student-athletes, or come for a cup of popcorn to support your friends in a fun-filled basketball face-off between AUP Faculty/Staff vs. Students! There will be hot chocolate, hot apple cider, snacks, and lots of fun! All the money raised from this event will go to AJMJTO, an association that provides for school children on an island off the coast of Madagascar by building schools and raising the necessary funds to maintain them with running water and electricity. Pay €3 for a ticket which covers entrance fee, popcorn, and a small soft drink.
