March Paris Preview

Here's your guide to what is going on in Paris this month.

March is here, and with it a well deserved spring break. If you are staying in town or want to enjoy the first days of spring in Paris this is your monthly guide of what to do. 

ENTERTAINMENT:

Carnaval de Paris: This yearly, festive costume parade is going to happen on March 3, 2019, and it is an opportunity to dress up and have some fun with this musical parade that starts at Place Gambetta and ends at Place de la République.

Nicki Minaj and Future: On March 7 these two rappers are going to perform at the Accorhotels Arena in Paris. Tickets are available here, prices go from 51.00€ to 139.00€.

Drake: The Canadian rapper is going to be performing for 3 nights at the Accorhotels Arena in Paris. You can see him on March 13 to 16 and tickets are still available

Childish Gambino: This amazing rapper is also going to be singing at the Accorhotels on March 27, and it is a can't miss opportunity to watch him perform live and the tickets have the best prices.

ART:

Tutankhamun: From March 23, the Villette is going to be hosting a once in a lifetime exhibition devoted to the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun and the incredible treasure found in his tomb in 1922. Many of these 150 objects have never left Egypt before, so you can't miss the opportunity to see this fabulous treasure. Tickets are still available, but make sure you book them ahead.

Black Models, from Géricault to Matisse: Starting March 26th, the Musée d'Orsay is hosting this exhibition which pays tribute to black models in the visual arts. This exhibition is going to show the different representations of black models in the works of Géricault, Manet, Cézanne, Matisse, etc.

Red, Art in the Land of Soviets: From March 20, the Grand Palais is opening its doors for this unique exhibition, which focuses on the contributions of artists to Communist propaganda in Russia during and after the 1917 revolution. If art and history are your thing, this is a can't miss. 

FESTIVALS:

Printemps du Cinéma: From March 17 to 19 you can't miss this incredible opportunity to watch any movie you want whenever you want. For only 4.00€ you can buy a ticket for any movie at any cinema and watch it as many times as you want in three days.

100%: From March 28 to 31, you can enjoy this multi-disciplinary festival that mixes dance, music, theater, circus, contemporary art, and dance.  The festival is going to be held at the park La Villette. You can see the whole program and the tickets on their website

SPORTS:

Paris Half Marathon: If you like running you can't miss the opportunity to run around the east of Paris on March 10, or if you just like to watch, go and support participants.
