Looking for your music paradise? Here are a few places in Paris to start you off.

If you are a music lover in Paris looking for a place to call yours, then I am here to help answer your cry for help. For some of us out there, music is a way of life. It is a part of us, and follows us wherever we go. We listen to music, play music, dance to music, and represent who we are through music. So, to find a place where we can be comfortable and ourselves whilst being surrounded by our kind of music is an important thing to do. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to discover venues within the beautiful city of Paris where you can enjoy great music, have fun, and most of all, feel at home.

For the Jazz Lovers:

Le Piano Vache is a whole in the wall covered in vintage posters filled with people enjoying music in a tight space. Le Piano Vache has assigned a set genre for each day of the week, but if you want to specifically listen to Jazz music, then Monday night is the time to go. Every week, they have "Jazz Manouche," where fans of Gypsy Jazz come together to enjoy the beauty of this instrumental genre from 9:30 pm to 1 am. People from all over come in for a drink or chat, and if you want to find a good seat, it's best to come early because it fills up pretty fast. The combination of Le Piano Vache's great relaxed ambience, cheap drinks, and professional live music makes absolute sense as to why the place is so popular.

For the Rockers:

CALLING ALL FANS OF ROCK! If you want to listen to your favorite genre of music while drinking draft beer on a late night, then Guinness Tavern is the place for you. An Irish pub with live Rock music EVERY SINGLE NIGHT makes the Guinness Tavern the go-to place for a Rock lover trying to find something to do. Fans of bands like Metallica, ACDC, and Aerosmith, will happily find themselves jamming out with people in the crowd to great cover bands, who know their stuff. Though drinks can get pricey, the wide variety of what you can order and the experience the place gives you is all worth it in the end. Also, the live sets go on till 4-5 am in the morning, so you definitely won't leave Guinness Tavern saying you wasted your night.

For the Open Mic Nighters:

The Bombardier is an English pub right next to Saint Etienne du Mont and near the Pantheon that has an open mic night every Monday starting at 9 pm. With a cozy intimate setting, it is definitely a place to go if you want to sit down with friends, eat food, and have some drinks. If you want to perform, just go right on up and ask Tess, the talented woman who takes care of the event. She's a friendly person who would love to have people come by to sing. Also, if you don't know how to play guitar but want to sing, Tess would be willing to play if it's a song she knows. Bombardier doesn't have drums but they do provide you with a mic, speaker, and guitar. Also, if you want to bring your own instrument, go for it. The crowd at Bombardier is very welcoming so there is no need to stress, and most people speak English so you don't have to worry about your bad French either.

For the Alternative Rock/Indie Crowd:

When you walk towards Supersonic, you cannot hear any music whatsoever. However, once you pass through its doors, the blaring music consumes you immediately. As you enter inside, the place is filled with people either dancing to the music next to the stage or getting drinks from the bar. Supersonic holds free concerts each night with local bands, and tribute concerts every two Sundays to famous bands and artists such as The Strokes and Johnny Cash. According to French local Mélanie Manière, "Supersonic is by far the best place in Paris," and I couldn't agree with her more.

HEADS UP: If you want to find your own place or need guidance on where to go, Lylo is a great way to find live music at local bars and restaurants. You can even filter your search results to specific genres and price, meaning you don't have to that much work except choose a place. Anyways, I wish you good luck and may you find a place to call your musical home.
