Your Ultimate Guide To What's Going On In Paris This Month

Spring break may be over, but the weather is starting to warm up, and more and more students and Parisians are flocking outdoors to profit from the good weather. Here are some things you can do in Paris for the Month of April.

Sports Events

If you're feeling up to the challenge, take part in the Paris Marathon. This event will be held on April 14th. The Paris Marathon is a fun way to burn calories while viewing the beautiful architecture and sights that the city has to offer. People can still sign up to help organize the event by becoming a volunteer. 

Literature Events

Former First Lady Michelle Obama will come to Accorhotels Hotels Arena on the 16th of April. Her event, titled Becoming: An Intimate Conversation, is one of a series of book tours for her latest book Becoming. This autobiography recounts the experiences the former first lady faced in early childhood, her adulthood and as well as in her professional career and marriage to Barack Obama. Tickets for the event are 44 euros each.

On April 11th until the 14th, the Grand Palais will host the International Rare Book & Fine Art. This exhibition will present the works of 150 booksellers from around the world, including unique, rare, and famous works.

Music Events

April is a month of classical music in Paris. The works of many composers, from Mozart to Beethoven to Stravinsky, will be played at various concert halls throughout the city. Click here to find tickets with prices ranging from 20-100, as well as additional information on the upcoming shows. 

AUP itself will host two free Chopin recitals in April on the 3rd and on the 10th. The venue will perform mostly the works of Chopin, but will also be performing the works of many Romantic Era composers, like Liszt and Wagner. These recitals will be held in the theater of the American Church in Paris in the 7th arrondissement.

For budding and amateur photographers, here's the perfect event. Mois De La Photo will be held throughout the month of April at the Grand Palais. This event is an opportunity for amateur artists to submit their works at the art event. 

The Urban Art Fair is also another event for discovering new and exciting works from young and upcoming artists, fashion artists, and design creators. Located at Carreau du Temple, this event attracts over 20,000 people annually. It will take place from April 11th to April 14th.

After amazing displays in Berlin and Amsterdam, the Sushi Festival has finally come to Paris. There will be a ton of sushi tasting venues, with DJ performances and live music afterward. Good news too for our vegetarian and vegan friends, this festival caters to you too! From cucumber to Californian rolls, there will be hundreds of rolls on display to try out. This event will be held from April 20 - 21 at Parc Floral de Paris. Tickets are only 9 euros apiece.

For those who are not in the mood for classical music this month, Accorhotels Arena has the perfect solution for you. The arena will be hosting a live music event, featuring an array of well-known DJs and fun electro-dance music to keep you dancing all night long. Tickets for this event start at 50 euros apiece.

Lastly, one event that many people are talking about is the International Pillow Fight. This popular event is held annually across major cities around the world. Grab your friends and your pillow and make sure to head over to Place de la République on April 6th, so that you too can participate in this unique event.
