Marlon Brings a Beachy Vibe to the Seventh Arrondissement

After two years of renovations, the restaurant finally opens it’s doors.

Pushing past the quadra glass doors, I was welcomed into Marlon's chic/indie/bohemian vibe. The manager, Pierre Antoine boldly shook my hand and sat me at a table with mason jar candles.  As a mason jar feen, I was ecstatic when I discovered that Every. Single. Drink. is sold in the containers. From fresh juices (apple, carrot, and orange) to matcha tea lattes to lemonade, they have one of the healthiest non-alcoholic beverage selections I've seen. And it doesn’t stop there: The chefs give a Ceasar salad actual nutrition by adding kale to it and have a few quinoa options as well.  If "healthy" isn’t your thing, the truffle mac and cheese and classic burger will satisfy big appetites. There are also vegetable hash-browns that even the most adamant carnivores can love.

If you are missing the cuisine from places like Cali and Hawaii, this hipster-chic Californian restaurant will give you comfort away from home. It’s special menu offers Shrimp Tempura tacos and Ceviche.

“We [distinguish ourselves] by offering the freshest produce, delivered daily on a menu inspired by Californian cuisine,” Antoine explains.

To switch things up, Marlon expresses it's Parisian roots by swapping the Californian menu for a special, egg-laden brunch menu on Sundays. Eggs and a cup of fresh mint lemonade will conquer the most excruciating hangover.

Marlon is the product of a traveling restaurant owner and interior designer, Alexandra Delarive. After getting inspired by the food and styles in New York, she saw a gap in the Paris restaurant market.

“She really has been traveling around a lot [to New York], like 10 years ago, and she said ‘Nobody’s doing  good burgers and things like fish and chips here,' so she decided to make that, and she was one of the first to do it in Paris. That’s why Marcel is the best place to go,” Antoine says.

After successfully opening 3 Marcels styled after New York around Paris, Delarive was itching for something new. Following a trip to California, she decided to start Marlon in the 7th arrondissement.  Antoine (below) used to manage at one of the Marcel locations and transferred to Marlon when it opened.
