The Right and Wrong Way to Do a Man Bun

'Yay' or a 'nay' to the man bun? That is the question.

Although it has become quite trendy lately, the man bun has existed for centuries and in different cultures. For example, in the Japanese culture, a bun was commonly worn by samurais or sumo wrestlers. Today, although 'to each man his bun', as each man has a different way to tie his bun, there are two types of man bun: the bun worn up and the one worn down. A lot of men, who wear the bun up, shave the two-thirds of their head and leave a handful of hair at the top, also called a top-knot. There also are men who choose to grow their hair, like the 'hottie' Jared Leto, in this case they can wear the bun up or down. How attractive is that, a man with a mane? It is definitely a 'yay' for me. The video below will make you think likewise. However, men that are trying to achieve a bun with a one inch bundle of hair, please don't! That is definitely going to be a 'nay', you will look more like 'notties' than 'hotties'. Check out the difference between the buns below.
