Christmas Time in Northern France
It's the most magical time of the year... Christmas. While Paris has it's own Christmas markets and decor, they do not compare to the charming towns lying near the north of France. Get ready to pack your bags and grab some friends, because you will want to see these places.
Ribeauville
This tiny but adorable town is located between Colmar and Strasbourg. They did not have a big Christmas Market, but their decorated town is worth the stop. Located on the Route du Vin, make sure you stop by a winery and try some of the regions famous white wine.

Strasbourg
The most famous Christmas market is located near the French border in Strasbourg. While this market is the largest and has the biggest selection of goodies to buy, be prepared to manage the crowds. You can make the stroll around more enjoyable buy picking up some vin chaud.

Colmar
I saved the best for last, Colmar. I recommend staying and spending the most time in Colmar. You will find storybook houses, great food, nice people and also Christmas wonderland. Colmar's Christmas market may not be as big as Strasbourg, but it has everything you need without the busy crowds.

If you can't make the trip before Christmas this year, I still highly recommenced visiting these towns year round. Better yet, take the Alsace Route du Vin when it's in season.
Merry Christmas!
