Back to School Party

The university will proudly commence the year with an event that will bring all AUP students together. Whether you want to reconnect with friends after the break or just want to meet new incoming students, this year's welcome to school party is one of the most important social events of the year.

Starting the semester with a welcome back party has become AUP's special touch. This year, the student government has selected the theme of the party to be 007 Casino Royale. The SGA communications director, Liz Nguyen-Son, let me in on some of the party's hot news. "We really encourage people to come because it is one of the biggest parties of the whole year," she told me. 

The party will take place at 34, Rue Du Départ, Paris 75015 in the Montparnasse area, one of Paris's most famous quartiers.

This year's party theme was selected by the Social Director, Annamaria Deganutti, who called it "the fun and entertainment of the casino mixed with the sexiness of James Bond." The event is free for incoming students! And for guests or returning students, entry is €15 per person including one free drink. Drink tickets will be sold throughout the night for €5, and remember that credit cards are not accepted, so please bring cash as no exceptions will be made. 

"We also scattered a handful of joker cards around campus. For those who find them, just bring them to the party and give them to the person at the drink booth and you will get a free drink!" —Liz

Last but not least, for all the social media activists, this party will be your heaven. It will have big balloons letters that spell the word ROYALE, so get ready to take a lot of selfies and most importantly to share them with your friends and family. "This year we wanted to push the social media aspect, so we set up a little corner in the club which will be for taking pictures. We encourage people to share their pictures with the hashtag #AUPRoyale so we would get a chance to see all the pictures taken there." Liz said. 

Make sure to get your ticket online so you can get your one free drink,  you can also buy tickets at the door for the same price, but it won't include a free drink. And please keep in mind that this party is in an actual club, so all participators must be 18+ and you need to have your student ID, or a photo ID if you're a guest.
