Whats an American student to do, when France doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving? Well you're in luck because I have discovered some secret alternatives for this Thanksgiving. Instead of pretending the chicken you bought at Carrefour tastes like a Thanksgiving turkey and how you thought you could replace the classic pumpkin pie with a macaroon, you have the option of going out to a restaurant and getting the Thanksgiving meal with no hassle of dishes or having to show off your amazing cooking skills in your apartment. Below are some fun things to help experience a Thanksgiving in Paris and still make it feel like home.

Thanksgiving

Location: 20 Rue Saint Paul (4th Arrondissement)
If you are looking to have a cozy Thanksgiving dinner in your apartment with friends, heres what you need, to create the best Thanksgiving. This store offers you homemade pecan and pumpkin pie for only €29. You can pick up stuffing mixes, gravy mix, fresh cranberries, and corn muffin mix. If you are no Rachael Ray or Gordon Ramsey, there are step-by-step recipes available on their website to help your Thanksgiving go smoothly. Here you'll find out how to make classic cranberry sauce, basic turkey stuffing, candied yams and of course, the perfect turkey.

The Real McCoy

49 Avenue Bosquet, (7th Arrondissement) 
This American grocery store is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., right by the AUP campus. After class, stop on by and pick up pie crust and pumpkin puree to make your own pumpkin pie. They have Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing or Stovetop turkey, chicken, traditional sage and cornbread stuffing. You can also get turkey gravy mix and sweet potato yams. In the store you can also pickup fun Thanksgiving decorations for your apartment along with pie and turkey tins.

Breakfast in America

Location: 4 Rue Malher (4th Arrondissement) 17, rue des Ecoles (5th Arrondissement)
Breakfast in America offers a special Thanksgiving menu that includes a homemade soup or salad to start, following a traditional turkey plate with stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetable and cranberry sauce. For dessert they give you the choice of homemade pumpkin, pecan or apple pie. Its a fixed price of €34.95. This Thanksgiving, there will be two seatings one at 6:30 p.m. and the other at 9:00 p.m. Reservations are taken by email only, so hurry up and save your spot.

Le Saint Martin

Location: 25, Rue Louis Blanc (10th Arrondissement)
Another great Thanksgiving dinner option is at Le Saint Martin. They are not only offering the traditional yummy meal on Thursday but also Friday and Saturday, just in case you miss moms leftovers the next day. There Thanksgiving menu includes savory carrot soup, roasted turkey, old fashioned stuffing, mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, butternut squash, and cranberry sauce. For dessert they include pumpkin bread and pumpkin, pecan and apple pies. The fixed price is €42 per person. The restaurant's set price is €50 and you can make a reservation at the link above for a New York style experience.
