For those of you staying in Paris for New Year's, here are some tips to make the beginning of 2016 special and memorable.

The metros will be running the whole night on New Year's Eve so you can pick any destination without being worried about how to get home.

First of all... Where to spend your countdown

1. Eiffel Tower

You should be around the Eiffel Tower quite early (around 9 to 10 pm at the latest) and maybe chill with your friends at Champ de Mars so that you can get the best place to see the New Year's show.
Just make sure to wear warm clothes.
The New Year's firework show is just amazing. Here's a video from last year.

2. Les Champs-Élysées

The Champs-Élysées is probably the most popular place for the countdown in Paris.
The Christmas market will still be open for New Year's so you can get some snacks and hot drinks before the countdown.
There will be tons of people throughout the avenue so make sure to get there early if you want to see the light show.
They usually have a special projection on L'Arc de Triomphe and you can watch the one from last year below.

3.  Sacre Coeur

If you want to spend your New Year's without being too exhausted, going to the Sacre Coeur might be a good idea.
Because it is on the hill, you get to see the entire city and some of the fireworks from the other places mentioned above.
There are many restaurants and bars around the Sacre Coeur that are open on New Year's day.

4. Disneyland Paris

Why not put a bit of magic into your New Year's by going to Disneyland?
There will be a special countdown ceremony with fireworks.
Most of the restaurants inside the park also offer a special menu for New Year's.

For the New Year's party

1. Partying in a club

There will be many clubs offering New Year's Eve events. If you are planning to do your countdown around the Tour Eiffel or the Champs-Élysées, keep an eye on the information for New Year's Eve parties at clubs located around, such as Queen and Duplex
The entry fee will be more expensive than usual, at least 50 Euros if you're trying to go to a famous one.

2. Meetmeout event

Meetmeout has organized an event for New Year's around the theme of the roaring 20s.
Not only can you party the whole night, but you can also be part of the movie they are making based on The Great Gatsby by Hemingway.
The event will be held in one of the historical halls in Paris called Salle Wagram.
The entrance fee is 39 Euros per person with a glass of champagne.

Although celebrating New Year's in Paris can be a little pricey, these places and events are definitely worth trying if you want to make your New Year's a special one.
