Our Favorite Terraces and Rooftops in Paris

By Lucille Befort
Everything tastes better with an aerial view of Paris.
There's nothing better than a breathtaking view of the city of light with a drink in hand.

Mythical and charming, terraces are the essence of the Parisian life. Since a few years, rooftops bars have developed in Paris, even if they do not compete with their cousins from Berlin or New York. In this list find out all about la crème de la crème of Parisian terraces & rooftops! From

Café de Flore

Just mythical. It is better to go there on the early morning, when the day belongs to you since tourists usually come by later. With un café noir and a newspaper, the moment is perfect: simplement Parisien.

Le Perchoir & his little brother Le Perchoir du Marais

They are not the most easy to find, yet definitely the coolest rooftops of Paris. The view of Paris is simply breathtaking. Hippy atmosphere is honored with tipis and large sofas, you will feel at home instantly. A little paradise available until the end of October, so hurry up!

Déli-Cieux Le Printemps

In the middle of your shopping, give yourself a break at the last floor of Le Printemps. You will discover a beautiful terrace where you will be able to observe La Madeleine, l'Opéra Garnier and Le Grand Palais while drinking a fresh juice. The access is free, you can also just go to admire the superb panorama.

Parc de Belleville

Our favorite and cheapest rooftop to see an aereal view of Paris. From the very top of the Parc de Belleville. You will decide your drink (or aperitif) of choice, not far you will find a grocery shop to pick up some great snacks and drinks. Bonus: Nobody will say that you aren't dressed well enough.

Hotel Raphael

A haven of peace in the middle of the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The terrace offers an hanging garden with a spectacular view on the Eiffel Tower, and the city. Prices are high, but the place is unique and worth every euro.

Café Marly

Having a drink at sunset, in front of the Louvre, is something you will never forget. The decoration will make you travel back in time to Napoléon & royalty with all those gilding and velvet. A must-do.
