5 easy no-bake deserts for students living without an oven.

Most students living in Paris don't have an oven. There are so many things you can't cook without an oven. Although they are not indispensable, just the idea of not having one is depressing. What about you? Could the lack of an oven seriously set you back? Or could you live happily without it? If you are indeed missing ovens, like most of us, then here are 5 desert ideas you can make without using one. I promise it's possible! 

1. Coffee-Drenched Ice Cream with Banana and Peanuts.

Ingredients:

2 cups vanilla low-fat ice cream
2 medium bananas, sliced
1/2 cup hot brewed espresso
2 tablespoons chopped, dry-roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons chocolate curls (about 1/2 ounce)

Preparation:

Spoon 1/2 cup ice cream into each of 4 bowls.
Top each serving with half of banana, 2 tablespoons espresso, 1 1/2 teaspoons peanuts, and 1 1/2 teaspoons chocolate.

2. Strawberry in Myer lemon Syrup

Ingredients:

4 cups quartered small strawberries
1/4 cup fresh Meyer lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup whipping cream

Preparation:

1. Place berries, juice, and sugar in a large bowl; toss gently to coat. Cover and chill 20 minutes.
2. Place cream in a medium bowl; stir constantly with a whisk until soft peaks form.
3. Serve whipped cream with berry mixture. 

3. Banana Cream Pie Smoothie

Ingredients: 

1 cup sliced ripe banana (about 1 large)
1 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
2 tablespoons whole wheat graham cracker crumbs (about 1/2 cookie sheet)
1 tablespoon nonfat dry milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ice cubes (about 1/4 cup)
Graham cracker crumbs

Preparation:

Arrange banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet, and freeze until firm (about 1 hour).
Place frozen banana and remaining ingredients in a blender.
Process until smooth.
Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.
Serve immediately. 

4. Limoncello Freeze 

Ingredients:

1/4 cup lemon curd
2 1/2 tablespoons Limoncello (lemon-flavored liqueur)
2 cups vanilla low-fat ice cream
4 vanilla meringue cookies, crushed (about 1/2 cup) 

Preparation: 

Combine curd and liqueur in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk to blend. 
Add ice cream to curd mixture; stir to blend. 
Spoon 1/2 cup ice cream mixture into each of 4 bowls. 
Top each with 1 crushed meringue cookie. 

5. Blueberry-Orange Parfaits 

Ingredients: 
1 1/2 tablespoons Demerara or turbinado sugar 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind 2 (7-ounce) containers reduced-fat plain Greek-style yogurt 2 cups fresh blueberries 2 cups orange sections (about 2 large) 1/4 cup wheat germ 

Preparation: 

Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring until blended. 
Spoon 1/4 cup blueberries into each of 4 tall glasses. 
Spoon about 2 1/2 tablespoons yogurt mixture over blueberries in each glass. 
Add 1/4 cup orange to each serving. 
Repeat layers with remaining blueberries, yogurt mixture, and orange.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon wheat germ over each serving; serve immediately.
