Everything you need at your fingertips.

Knowing where to start when traveling can be very intimidating, especially for a city like Paris. Thanks to the developments in technology, there are now some great tools that make it easier to find restaurants, navigate via public transportation, and get the most out of your visit. There are so many different blogs, apps, and travel websites that make different recommendations and it can get a little overwhelming. Here are the ones I have found to be the most informative, easy to use, and offer the best tips.

Citymapper

First, I recommend Citymapper which is known as "the ultimate transit app." This app offers you a number of ways to get from point A to point B, including public transport routes and estimated fares for Uber and Velib. For Velib, it gives you a biking route and even shows you the distance you cover and how many calories you'll kill during your ride. To download Citymapper, click here.

G. Spotting

My next recommendation is a fairly new app called G. Spotting. I'm sure some of the ladies reading this have heard or visited Gwyneth Paltrow's website, Goop“The general thesis is that life is really too short to settle for a subpar meal or experience—particularly when you’re spending your precious vacation time and might never get a chance to visit a place again,” Noora Raj Brown, Vice President of Communications at Goop, told Travel + Leisure magazine. G. Spotting contains many of Gwyneth's recommendations that she has published on Goop, plus even more. This cheekily named travel app features guides to restaurants, shops, and culture. Paris is one of the 25 cities that the app explores. To download G. Spotting, click here

Le Fooding

One of my all-favorite apps is called Le Fooding, which is the holy grail for all of you foodies out there. This guide is written by Parisians with the focus on creative and different restaurants. Not your average tourist traps. To download Le Fooding, click here.

Gogo Paris

Gogo Paris was one of the first phone applications I downloaded when I arrived in Paris. It is super easy to use and there is also a book version that you can purchase at Colette on Rue Saint-Honoré. With its home page being a map, you can explore different restaurants, clubs, museums, and shops in all of the arrondissements in Paris. For the Gogo Paris print version, click here

TheFork

TheFork, also known as La Fourchette  is a very handy app and website. If you are a last-minute planner and want to be able to browse the availability of restaurants easily, then this is the app for you. Even though the app does not have every restaurant, it still has quite a handful to choose from. To download the app, click here.
