Student Survival Guide: Drunk Food

Your guide to the post-party bistros.

If you drink and don't get hungry, then did you really drink? The great thing about living in France is that you can be 18, get legally wasted, and take an Uber home to pass out on your bed at 4 in the morning. But the thing that sucks about France is that most places consider 6 p.m. to be a reasonable time to close down anything and everything. I don't know about you, but my drunk self just wants a croque monsieur or a Big Mac after I go through the doors of a bar, pub, or a club.

Pizza Pino

Pizza Pino stays open until either 1 or nearly 5 in the morning depending on if you are at one of the locations in the 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 11th. Whether you're at Queen, Titty Twister, or Le Hobo this is a great place to stop before returning to

Le Départ Saint-Michel

If you find yourself in the 5th, Le Départ is open 24/7. It's your typical café, which I must say serves an amazing breakfast when you're forced out of bed earlier than planned.

Rue de Lappe

If you prefer to bar hop in Bastille then you're in luck. After you get embarrassingly wasted at Shoteria, you have a few restaurants that stay open until 2 am. Indian Connection offers a great selection of drinks and food. Crêpes Show for, well, crepes, and Havanita Bar for delicious Cuban food.

Unfortunately, everyone's favorite falafel place in the Marais (L'as du Fallafel) closes at 11 p.m. If you're a day drinker or just want a pre-drinking snack, I highly suggest you stop by this constantly busy restaurant. The Auld Alliance is a great (English speaking pub) which, obviously, serves great pub food. There's a pub all over the city which stay open until at least 2 in the morning, just like The Auld Alliance does.

Push comes to shove, stop by Monoprix or Carrefour and stockpile snacks into your clutch for when you're too drunk to care anymore.
