A Night out in Sin City

How to do it like The Hangover.

Going to Las Vegas can be anything you want it to be. Known around the world as the 'adult playground'' and the 'city of sin', or by its famous saying, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". I have had the benefit of experiencing this city from the age of 5, all the way up to my clubbing years. With years of experience, I know the ins and outs, the best places to party, and most importantly, the worst places.

The Las Vegas Strip is built of mostly one street about 6 miles long (for the main casinos) and allows activities of any sort. The casinos generally replicate somewhere in the world, The Venetian is made like Venice, The Paris Hotel like Paris, The Caesars' Palace like Rome, and the list goes on. Some see it as a bit tacky, but I think the best way is to embrace all of it's "fakeness" for what it is. Pick a hotel to stay in, hopefully, close to where you want to go out because traffic on the strip can be bumper to bumper on weekends. The big question you ask yourself upon arrival is what do you want to get into? You want to club? You want strip clubs? You want bottle service? Bars? Nightlife? Live shows? Pool parties? Drive-thru weddings? Vegas will provide all of that, in ample amounts. And even the blacklist of things you shouldn't have, it's still pretty easy to find.

The clubbing culture is a major highlight of Vegas. According to the locals, the hottest clubs right now are Omnia, Hakkasan, XS, Encore Beach Club, Jewel, Intrigue, and Surrender. Most of these you will find situated in one of the Encore Wynn hotels. If you want to keep the party going and you feel like the club is dying down, head over to Drai's After Hours Club where they have different rooms to cater to different genres of music, and an island pool.

"Every night is a celebration..."

Each of the clubs is known to go over the top to impress. After all, it is Vegas. Taylor Dacquisto, a friend working in the industry said, "Every night is a celebration. The clubs never seize to go over the top in every aspect. You have lights, big labeled DJs, champagne showers, and everything catered to what you want. Working behind the scenes, I see how much effort gets put into every single night. It's really a place to just do whatever you want." Security is very strict (don't even try a fake), and they do not mess around. If you even start to stumble or take a quick nap, you'll find yourself holstered over a very large man's shoulder and thrown out.

The trending music in Las Vegas is EDM and techno. Headliners from all over the world have residency here every weekend, including Tiesto, the Chainsmokers, Kygo, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Marshmello, and more. If you're not into mainstream music, then maybe clubbing here is not for you. Make sure you check out which DJs are playing on the dates of your trip. Remember that crowds get really heavy and drink prices are ridiculous. With $30 for admission and $16 for a cocktail, you're better off getting a table with friends. On average, a table will start at $400 and go indefinitely higher. And this is the city based on service, don't forget to tip your waitress! Another friend working at Encore Beach Club said, "I feel so privileged to work this job. We get so many benefits and we love partying with the people as we work. If you come in and you're a cool person, we'll help you out as best we can. Pulling strings like DJ tables, free bottles...just be friendly, that's all we really care about."

Side note: If you tell the club it's your birthday, they will come out with streamers to your table, girls on shoulders with themed outfits, and your name spelled out on posters. It's quite an epic picture, even if it's not your birthday.

After you've been kicked out of the club, head straight to a strip club. It doesn't matter if you're male or female, interested or not; it's a must-do Vegas experience. The strip clubs can range from utter trash to very high-class stripping. Crazy Horse III, Spearmint Rhino, and Sapphire are on the nicer side, whereas I would try to avoid places like Palomino's and Little Darlings. Just like the clubs, the strip clubs in Vegas don't dim down when it comes to presentation. Crazy Horse has three stories with plush chairs, bottle service, and of course, strippers everywhere. So bring your cash, or hit the "make it rain" button at the ATM, and watch your bank account get drained.

At the end of the night, if you're as drunk as you're supposed to be with all your friends, try not to help each other make poor decisions. You might find yourself in the Little White Chapel with Elvis Presley marrying you to the woman or man you just met.

DISCLAIMER: It is a real marriage, and it DOESN'T just stay in Vegas!

If you end up broke and without your dignity, don't be that person to put your last $5 in the slot machine with hope. Just go home and leave Vegas with those blurry memories.
