Being a student in the City of Light is not easy, take notes.

For those students taking an Uber, please be sure to ask the driver to stop 2 meters in front of Combes blocking the one way street. If Uber is too much work for you, ask your parents for a personal driver. Ask said personal driver to take you from class at Combes to class at Passage Landrieu every day.  The other students who take the more normal route of driving their car to school, it is instructed to park directly in front of the gates at Grenelle building. The only cars allowed to be in front of said gates are Aston Martin, Porche, Lambourgini, Ferrari, Fiat, Mini Cooper, and Bently. Thank you for your understanding.

Fashion at AUP

Fashion at The American University of Paris is essential to success in course work. Please get out your fur, Louis Vuitton, Channel, and Prada from your walk in closet. Wear as many name brands as humanly possible at the same time. Pair slippers with all fashion choices and sport your look in university classes no matter the occasion. Tip: Act as if there are runway modeling scouts in each classroom and dress accordingly.

Accessories at AUP:
Bring your purse sized dog with you to each class. If the dog has to use the restroom facilities, explain to the dog that the floor is just as good as the concrete outside and allow the dog to go potty inside the classroom. Do not feel the need to clean it up, you pay for this university, someone else will do it for you. As for bags and purses at AUP, they will be checked as you walk in the building. The following bags are permitted: Hermes, Celine, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. Leave all other bags on the street where they belong.

While in the city of lights be sure to start your own fashion, food, review, or Parisian blog. Just living in the 7th arrondissement (and never leaving) gives you the opportunity to show the world how much you love and explore Paris. The world is waiting for your incredible new take on the way your Christian Louboutin heels tap the paved streets as you take a stroll to pick up your vegan burger. As for passports, please brag about your diplomatic passport and triple citizenship through the course of your Instagram feed.

Food at AUP:
Be sure you stop each morning to get your Starbucks non-fat extra skinny sugar free soy vanilla latte on the way to you 10:35am class—but you don't know how to say that in French so it's okay if the barista doesn't understand, just say it louder then they'll understand better. Make sure that all your food choices are vegan because now that you’re in Paris, but 7 days a week are cheat days so it is not that hard anyways.

Social Media at AUP:

On all social media platforms you will learn of AUP events, culture trips, and students. Be sure to act as if your social media is the way you truly live your life. For example, post instagram pictures of you in famous Parisian hotels even though you have a 90m2 apartment on Avenue Bosquet. Students at AUP choose one of the following themes for their instagrams: Fashion, Model, Fashion Model, Humanitarian, Adventurer, or Party. While on Snapchat share your videos of bottle service at your crazy club night out, make people think this is your norm. As for Facebook share your newly acquired photography skills of each one of your vegan meals, everyone is dying to see.
